However, all the way looking back to 2009, the rate of drunk driving arrests in New Hampshire decreased by 3.2 percent. While that may seem like a good thing, the national rate of drunk driving arrests decreased by 35 percent over that same period. Nearby Vermont was the only New England state that ranked above New Hampshire, with 418 drunk driving arrests per 100,000 people.
